What are E-Seva Portals?
E-Seva portals are state government digital platforms designed to provide citizens easy and convenient access to a wide range of government services online. The name “E-Seva” literally means “Electronic Service,” and the objective is to make public services accessible from anywhere at any time, without the need to visit government offices physically.
These portals integrate multiple services across departments such as certificates issuance, utility bill payments, pension applications, license renewals, tax payments, and grievance redressal, making governance transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric.
Two of the most prominent E-Seva portals in India are Telangana’s MeeSeva Portal and Uttar Pradesh’s eDistrict Portal, which serve millions of users with hundreds of services digitally.
Telangana MeeSeva Portal
About MeeSeva: MeeSeva means “At your service” in Telugu, symbolizing the government’s commitment to serving citizens through digital means. Telangana MeeSeva is an award-winning initiative aligned with the National e-Governance Plan, offering a unified online platform and a network of service centers to deliver government-to-citizen (G2C) and government-to-business (G2B) services digitally.
